Rotary for young people

Leadership, service and friendship for people 12 to 30. Across District 9350 we run four programmes for young people who want to make things happen in their schools, their universities and their communities.

Interact (ages 12-18)

School-based service clubs. Members run local volunteer projects — from coastal clean-ups to literacy drives — with a teacher sponsor and a partnering Rotary club. Builds the leadership muscle early.

Rotaract (ages 18-30)

Young professional and student service clubs. Active Rotaract clubs in our district include Wynberg, Stellenbosch, Hermanus and Bellville — running their own community projects, often in partnership with the parent Rotary club.

Rotary Youth Leadership Awards

A residential leadership training programme for young people aged 18-25. Selected by the local Rotary club, participants spend a week working with leadership coaches, alumni and current Rotary mentors.

Youth Exchange

Long-term and short-term cultural exchanges for school-age students between Rotary districts worldwide. Live with host families, attend a local school, come home with a second language and a global network.
