Rotaract
Rotaract is the side of Rotary for people 18-30 — service, leadership and friendship for young professionals and university students. Same values, run by people in the same life-stage as the members.
What Rotaractors do
Each club picks its own projects. Across the district that has meant Mandela Day soup drives, beach clean-ups, blood-drive partnerships, mentoring programmes at under-resourced schools, and joint events with parent Rotary clubs. Smaller than Rotary, faster to act.
Active in District 9350
Wynberg, Stellenbosch, Hermanus and Bellville run regular Rotaract programmes. New chapters are spinning up in other parts of the district — the directory has the latest list.
Joining
Email the secretary of the nearest Rotaract club, or pitch up to a meeting — most are once or twice a month and openly welcome guests. Membership is usually a low annual fee that goes toward club projects.
Starting a new club
A sponsoring Rotary club, a charter group of at least 8 people, and the district Rotaract chair to walk you through paperwork. Reach out via the Public Image team to begin.
